increased interest on egg card

I think this has to be unlawful, but what can I do?
I have had an egg card for quite a while, and for the past 18 months have been paying the minimum without exception. This is not true of my MBNA card, however Egg have increased my rate to 24.9% even though I havn't defaulted or given them cause. Their explanation for this is that I am a bad risk and yet I havn't missed a payment in 18months or more. I know my credit rating isn't brilliant at the moment but I have just re mortgaged with the Abbey to help clear some debt, so it can't be all that bad.
