Online Diamond Purchase?

Has anyone purchased a diamond ring online from an online retailer/ producer? More specifically from Diamonds Factory.co.uk?

They have a lot of testimonials on the site be would be more comfortable if someone on here has made a satisfactory purchase.

Cheers

  • I've bought from Blue Nile but not the site you mention

Looking at their site I would be concerned about them a little bit, firstly they are "self certificating" the diamonds by default which isnt going to be great. Secondly they lump GIA and IGI together as an alternative certification. GIA are considered one of the best (strictest) where as IGI are fairly loose. What IGI call a E colour GIA may say is an F and this has a significant impact to the value.

Blue Nile has a good reputation and does use GIA certificates. The only two downsides is that they dont show images of the actual stones your buying nor some of the more advanced imaging that you can do that will enable you to more accurately predict the "fire" you will get. Unfortunately the dealers that do this tend to be much smaller so less options and higher prices.

Bought from BlueNile two weeks ago honestly couldnt fault the service or the end result in any way at all. Would have cost nearly double on the high street.

  • Also used bluenile and it's really good! My sister's engagement ring is from there too and it's great. They have. Guide for diamonds too - colours, cut etc.

Do research online for what you want and then use the search tool to locate matches. The site provides lots of details. They were really good with my BIL on the phone too.
