Wireless broadband - secondary users

Options
Constantly get 'bumped off' internet explorer when using laptop wirelessly. Doesn't happen to main PC (this can be either on or offline at time). Any solutions?

    bumped off?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • Online then 'IE cannot find server', regularly, (every few minutes at peak times) Should point out that if I disconnect and reconnect to server then get online immediately, only to be in same situation few mins later! Really frustrating.

how do you reconnect to the server? I'm struggling to understand your terminology.

which router, which wireless adapter, is it encrypted, have you tried letting windows manage the wireless, and tried changing channels?

  • Wanadoo wireless - have tried changing channels once but exactly the same consistency of being online to IE on laptop and then IE states cannot find server, while main PC online all time. PC uses wireless adapter, laptop has wireless capability. Has been suggested use ethernet cable for laptop - but what's the point of wireless then! By disconnecting and reconnecting to network by using wireless connection network status menu on desktop taskbar can continue again online. How do I get Windows to manage wireless on laptop (suspect this is happening on PC)? Have some understanding of what is going on but no expert - be kind! (Not totally understanding what you mean by encrypted wireless adapter but as this is on PC and PC is OK, not worrying too much!)

Grateful for your advice, if you can help!
