Car insurance for a 17 year old!?

Can anyone advise me on insurance, passed a week ago, can take pass plus but havent done.
Looking to buy a toyota yaris or other group 1 car that is new.
Look forward to hearing your views:) keep getting quoted around 2k!!

My son did not bother with pass plus when he passed his test last year. At that time, the cost of the extra lessons equated to the discount on the car insurance, so it did not seem worth it. Also, the pass plus discount only applied in the first year.
You have to shop around for car insurance. Once my son passed his test, I moved my car to Direct Line, and then my son's car qualified for a second car in the household discount.
I was going to move his insurance when he turned 18, but will wait the extra 3 months to get 1 year's no claim discount as well.0
