OP have you ever been diagnosed with petit mal? Your staring and mental absence episodes sound similar to petit mal. You should see your doctor.

I second this. My daughter has CAE and its not pleasant. Op you need help, emotional and psychological, rather than financial. Is there no way of seeing someone different when you sign on? I think job centres are not meant to nice to encourage people to get a job quicker (so they need not attend anymore).
Op see the doctor, show them a print of what you wrote to give them an idea of how bad it's got for you, good luck.
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea

Can't speak for the rest of your post but this paragraph is pretty standard for many "normal" people (at least I hope so :)). I walk into the kitchen and completely forget what I was going to do there, I want to look something up online but by the time the PC has connected my mind has wandered and I've forgotten what I was going to look up. Don't take this as sarcasm, it really isn't that unusual.

I agree, this sort of forgetfulness is pretty normal, especially as you get older. Sounds more like you just didn't want to take the rubbish out.

As for the OP, don't forget that it is your advisor's job to get you into work. There are seemingly jobs available, which is why he has tried to get you to apply for them. I understand about travel costs making it not worthwhile to work, but part of me thinks you are just being too picky about what work is on offer.

You can't claim JSA if you don't want a job.

    Of course you can.

You can't claim JSA unless you are willing to apply for vacancies highlighted, and do those jobs.

These are far from the same things.
  • You needin to see your doc and get a sick note and sum medicine. You shouldn't not be expected to work while you feel like this, your advicer is bein nasty and needs telin.

    Same for me.

Go upstairs for something, get to the top, then can't remember what you went up for.
Sit on the top step, proclaiming you're (I'm) not going back down until I remember.

I do back down of course, as I don't remember.
The minute I get back down, I do remember what I went up for!

I recently popped to the local supermarket to get something.
As I walked in, I thought- what did I want?
Walked round for five minutes thinking it would come to me.
    Did it eck!
I gave up and walked back home.
  • Whenever you want something why not write it down and stick it in a pocket?

The title says it all really.

If you are really ill I don't think being 'exempt from work' will help matters.

  • 1st stop as everyone else has said, go and see a doctor.

Secondly, if you really want to work but your illness is stopping you think about the jobs you could do, not what you cant!

Maybe a job working from home? Small office? (you obviously can type as we have seen from your long post)

Maybe part time hours? I think not working all together only ever makes things worse;)

OP has not been back to check the answers, I reckon he forgot that he posted this here. It might all come back to him a few weeks from now but he would not know how to seek out his thread.
