If anyone wants to buy one of these bags I have emailed the seller and she tells me she has a website https://www.marissav.com. Apparently she sells them for £15.00 plus £5.00 delivery and her website states where the bags are made - IN ENGLAND!!

And £15.00 is a snip methinks as the other "green" bags are going on ebay for around £70.00, do some people have nothing else to spend their money on??

I ran a campaign in local schools while I was at uni to teach children how to make cloth bags to carry their shopping in. Why didn't I think of selling them at a fiver a time, I would have made a mint :rotfl:

I recently applied for a John Lewis Partnership credit card, just so that I could use Waitrose's Quick Scan system to save time.

If you register for Quick Scan, Waitrose give you 4 fantastic bags (plus a superb cool bag when you spend £50 in one go). They are soooo spacious and strong, and will probably last forever.

I now use them wherever I shop: Tesco, Morrison etc, instead of using carrier bags.

(You don't have to pay for your shopping in Waitrose with the Partnership credit card - I use another card to pay.)

The most ridiculous thing about these bags is that they are not green or eco friendly at all!! The carbon footprint for each bag must be big as they have been made in china and shipped over! They are neither organic or more importantly - they are not fairtrade. They have been made in sweatshops just like every other highstreet/designer handbag!!

I am an employee of Sainbury's, we had just 30 of those bags at our store - we aren't particularly small either! It's ridiculous.

Sickening that in this day and age, we still cannot make fairtrade a law.

I noticed someone posting about an Onya bag, Lidl will be selling a similar type thing nylon bag which zips away into a small pouch- several different styles too from Mon May 14th according to the leaflet in my local store. These are only £2.99 too so quite cheap! ;)
Don't know about ecological aspect of these bags, but they should last for ages. Sadly not quite as funky as the Onya but they are a bit cheaper.;)

My local Cancer Research charity shop sells the zipaway bags in various colours for about the same price. It's one of their 'new' lines rather than second hand, so I'd assume they're in all the branches. :)

Saw a lovely bag on someone's arm this morning - all flowery and spring-like, and a good size. It had the local library logo on it, so I'm popping down later to see if they have any left.

Anyone else a bit of a bag-a-holic - I probably own more shopping bags than I'll ever use, lol :rotfl:
