Epson printer problem

My epson sx115 multifunction printer has a problem. When I turn it on it makes a loud clicking noise from the scanner belt which is trying to drive the light to the right when it is already on the 'stop'. After about 10 seconds the motor (and noise) stop and all three lights (ready light, ink light and paper light) flash slowly in unison. The printer is only a couple of years old and has not had a lot of use. Any ideas?
