Hi,

Im hoping someone can help me i dont know what to do ?

I pay £30 per month via Direct Debit to British Gas i have both Electric and Gas of them.

Anyway i have just had my electric bill they say i have used £113.63 in 3 months. I am £101.64 in debit with them, i did put my direct debits up from £25 to £30 in August last year.

I do have a eletric shower but all my heating and cooking is Gas.

Anyway they have estimated my bill with a reading of 66502 but the problem is i have just checked my meter and it says 68241.

Whicjh probably means i owe close to £1000 what do i do, i hear they are dropping there prices so would you not say anythink and justy increase my payments by £10 per month or what i really dont know what to do here.

Any advice would be most gratefull.

Why do you thik you might owe them £1,000?

Your estimated reading is 1,739kWh too low.

It depends where you live and what BG tariff you are on, but at an average of 10p a kWh you are talking about another £174 debit.

I would wait until they read your meter, and meanwhile save some money in an interest earning bank account.

They are likely to calculate all your arrears at the new lower prices(they have reduced their standard prices twice recently.

I have just joined Click 2 on BG

I am already £100 in arrears so i think like you saud pay a little extra in my halifax 6% interest account and wait for them to read the meter.

I have just paid a one of payment of £60. so at least that gets my bill down a bit.

    Thanks for your help.
