Buying a repossessed car from garage
Hi
Just seen a car that we would like to buy but it's a repossessed vehicle, are there any problems with this?
It has no service history, but it's a diesel and only done 40k miles. The dealer has also done a full HPI check on it which is clean,
It is cheaper than others around but worried that something could be up if it hasn't had service etc?!
Thanks

If they've not bothered to make the repayments, you will find that they wont have bothered to maintain the thing either.0

Repo'ed voluntarily or by force/stealth? If they used force/stealth they would have had a key cut or programmed and the original user may still have original keys. The man without a signature.0

When you say "no S H" do you mean a stamped service book, are you buying from a franchise garage. If it's got any S H (or even warranty recall work) then the franchise garage can find it it the system and a duplicate service book bought. The person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0 -
Thanks for the responses. It's not a franchise just a local garage, they have just told me it has no s/h so not sure if this means no book or it has never had a service!
I have asked them to check!0 -
How old is the car?
What sort of cars does this dealer sell? If its older stuff and this is the newest thing there or one of the newest then keep looking.
Its the sort of car someone who fixes their own car buys/ Someone who will swap the engine if needs be and pays a LOT less than book value for it.
How many keys do they have?
Does one key fit all the locks? Does it have the correct remote key etc?
Old enough for an MOT? Check the old ones. Any failures or advisories.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for that, I will send the questions on to the dealer0
