Hello All,
Am looking for basic home printer for printing (mainly Word and internet pages), photocopying and scanning.
Cartridges need to be cheap too!
My current printer has just refused to work on non-branded ink any more, so I would prefer a model with cheap genuine cartridges.
Epson?

..or hp. Canon are also very good. Do try to get wireless if you can.0

Another thing: if you have an iPhone or an iPad 2 or later, do try to get one with AirPrint. This means you can print from these devices from your armchair. Handy to have if you're lazy, like me.0

Cheap and genuine ink is rare to find, Lexmark and Kodak make a thing about cheapest black replacements. Some mention not brilliant Kodak build quality
Which printer has stopped recognising carts and are they a make which worked previously?
Have you updated any printer firmware?0 -

It's a HP Officejet v45. I have always used the same ink cartridges since I bought the printer. Haven't changed anything, they just now throw up an error message.0 -
I posted this link for looking at the error in the other post, hope it helps, as it will be better to keep the existing one if possible

Thanks santer. Have followed the instructions (clean the contacts, do a hard reset) with no success.
It suggests buying a new cartridge - but what if I do that and it still doesn't work? I will have wasted my money0 -
You could ask the supplier to replace it, especially if you have been buying from them for a while0

The iPad 1 supports AirPrint too - or our HP printer is magic0
