You sound like me a couple of years ago, I thought I was winning the debt battle many times, but I got caught in a cycle of paying some off, feeling good with myself and then spending again!

Hey Nannyg, thanks for stopping by. That's exactly what's happening here, pay a little off then think "I could do with a new X" and 9/10 I don't need it, I just think I do.

'm subscribing to see how you do this time :) Don't be disheartened, this debt free lark can take quite a few times off the wagon before it sticks, trust me on that. Take every day as a new day and keep the spends low without losing your quality of life entirely to the challenge, a balance in the middle somewhere is always good :) And you're debts are sure to be gone in no time :) Keep posting.

Well done on becoming debt free, all going to plan I'll be joining you in 7 or 8 months - all things going well!

Thanks all, well today went ok, I always hate Mondays, they're so busy after the weekend that I spend most of the day chasing my tail.

I spend ~ £4 on lunch which is a normal amount, I know I should try and cut it down but I'd feel that those that work with me would think I couldn't afford it and in debt (I know I am, but others don't need to know).

Supper tonight was a bargain, New Covent Garden Soup, should have been £2.34 in Tesco but half price and I had a £1 off coupon making it £0.17 I can't grumble at that, tomorrow is home made cottage pie, yummy!

Well I suppose I should call it a night, too many late nights over the weekend and I can barely keep my eyes open.

    Night all!

Well, another day has passed us by and not a lot has changed!

Today was quite uneventful, had a blood test, had lunch (again around £4), did some work, and came home and cooked cottage pie - now this is where I'd normally cook a recipe for 4 people even when it's only me eating, well today I froze the remaining 3 portions and will eat them in the coming weeks.

Now I appreciate that this is a normal thing to do it's something that I've neglected to do before!

    Afternoon!

Having a bit of a lazy day today and didn't get out of bed until gone 12 however I have sent a couple of F&F offers to creditors. I've offered 12% F&F on a £420 default which whilst I know is extremely low I've had others accept these amounts - if they don't they I can simply increase the offers. Fingers crossed!

Oh no, I think I've actually hit rock bottom :(

My salary this month is £1,935.39, but my outgoings are £2409.05, of which £1535.01 are PDL repayments, a shortfall of £473.66. I've been staring at the figures for a few days and each time I do I feel physically sick.

I spoke to my grandfather to see if he'd bail me out and I'd pay him back at £x per month until it was fully repaid, unfortunately the call didn't go great, he said he was disappointed in me and couldn't continue the call - I've not spoken to him since.

Not sure where to turn, or what to do, life currently sucks.

I've nothing of value to sell however I've just been on the phone to one of the PDL companies and they've agreed to freeze interest and spread out the remaining principal over 4 months :j, I couldn't be happier. I've just got to call MrLender tomorrow when they open to see if they'll do anything similar.

Well another call made this time to Mr Lender, the gent I spoke to was really nice and asked how much I could afford and simply changed the agreement to suit my repayments and again agreed to freeze interest.

I couldn't be happier at how helpful both companies were, I was expecting them to tell me to sod off.
