  • Not a lot wrong with your SOA, as far as I can see.

However, Mobile Phone is high. Can you switch to PAYG?

Also, you need something in the Emergency Fund, even if that means splitting your Entertainment spend, and using half of it in the Emergency Fund.

A nice couple of NSD's this weekend, went for a BBQ yesterday evening so didn't need to visit Mr Tesco for anything for dinner, it did however pour with rain but that didn't spoil the food or drinks!

Unfortunately the mobile phone is currently in contract until April 2014 but I will be looking at reducing this to either PAYG or a sim only deal at the end.

I got a nice email from my insurance company on Friday telling me that my renewal was due on ... Saturday! Yup that's right, they told me a whole 24 hours before it ran out. The only saving grace was the renewal price was £60 less than the nearest price renewal site quoted.

Finally home from work and the gym, I had to pop and fill up the car with fuel with what little money I had remaining - less than £5 which is very depressing.

Although I get paid tomorrow I know I won't have much remaining after all the bills are paid. I've just text my personal trainer at the gym to cancel which saves me a staggering £130 a month!!

Enough rambling for tonight I think.

Well, I've received a couple of emails from Gothia DCA about my Wonga account which was defaulted way back in 2010 and has a balance of £684, offering me a couple of F&F payment amounts (around the £200-£300 mark)

I sent a cheeky email saying I could offer £100 and today they have replied saying they'll accept £102.64! Yup - they'll accept 15%!! This will bring my overall debt down to £3443. :)
  • Thats really good news!!

Keep going! every little helps x

Erm, yeah! I kinda fell of the waggon again :'(

So whats happened since I last posted? Well, the debts have increased, as has my waistline, too many ready meals, bottles of wine and a never ending cycle of payday loans!

I've currently got three on the go at the moment which I'm mad at myself for - the amount I'll have to pay back vs what I borrowed is just silly but I've no one other than myself to blame. This months repayments were £570.77, £366.66 & £170  (god that was had to type, I remember a couple of years back when I didn't even earn that in a month.)

I've not got much in the bank currently but most of my Christmas presents have been purchased and I'm waiting for my sister to transfer half of the cost of my parents gift so £100 *should* be enough to live on until the end of the year, right...

Today should be a NSD as I've got food in the freezer that'll last me the weekend, I'll need to go shopping at some point in the week however I've got £12 of unused Tesco vouchers which coupled with the 1KG of chicken breasts I've got frozen should get me through without spending too much real money.

    Morning, well afternoon!

I'm going to try and post daily, mainly to keep me on track but also to see if anyone actually reads others diaries ;)

I've gone through all my accounts and my current debt level has increased by 49.8% to £6,870, mainly due to the payday loans, they're currently standing at £3,216 remaining to be paid over the next 2, 3 and 5 months however once the first has been paid I'll be looking at paying more towards the second and third in the hope of paying them off quicker meaning less interest to pay!

I'm going to have to bring forward my Tesco trip as I've either eaten my fajita mix or it took someone elses fancy in the house - I live in a MOH so share with 5 other people which has its bonuses at times.

    Hello aNom

You sound like me a couple of years ago, I thought I was winning the debt battle many times, but I got caught in a cycle of paying some off, feeling good with myself and then spending again!anyway I realized one month that my debt was on the up regardless, took myself in hand, stopped kidding myself and knuckled down to it, it was hard, very hard but I treated it as a job really and I finally got there, I still have a credit card but haven't used it in an age, I keep out of my od and even have an emergency fund just in case the tv, washer etc breaks. So at the moment I'm in a good place, but I don't know if other people find this but I find it very hard to keep on the straight and narrow, it's almost like being an addict I'm just hoping it's gets easier as I go on. Hope that last bit makes sense, anyway good luck with your journey, it's never easy and if you fall occasionally just pick yourself up and try try again cos you do there.
