Do you really need to wash towels at 90 degrees?

We wash ours at 40 or 50 degrees and they come out perfectly clean.

I have only just started doing this, is the second time, I use it as the opportunity to clean the machine when it's getting a bit smelly. Read that a 90 degree wash will kill any bugs in the machine.

I prefer 60 degrees for towels and bedding - it's hot enough to kill bugs that can survive lower temperatures.

And I have always washed sheets on a "hot" wash, regardless of what it says on the labels!
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
