Is this correct, right, how can I ...

Options
improve...
I recently started 'comping' in mid November, since leaving my job to start a new one; I've had about a month + a half of. Anyway, I have all day to comp, 'till five ish when the other half comes home and cleaning etc. But I do it in this order;
Random Dailys,
Check on the weeklys
Magazine Dailys (only just started this)
I then search tomorrows date i.e. 14/01 - and do ALL those ones
Then lastly, I do ALL the new ones that have been put up.

Is the the best way? Could I do it differently...I've won abit. I'm going back to work this week so it won't carry on like this but I will try to keep up!
I'm greatful for any advice :)

Hi L-sym, all the best for going back to work, I'd love to give you effective efficient advice on how to maximise number of entries but whatever you do it still comes down to a numbers game, got to be in it to win it.

Enter for what you want to win, and wait for the lovely surprises if you do.

I would say facebook and twitter can tend to get a bad wrap but I've won on them, don't avoid something because it might take a bit of effort and likewise don't enter for something you don't want

I tend to go through the lists, sort by date and do the new ones but the order you enter will have no correlation on whether you are more likely or not to win, enjoy it and good luck, it does sound like you are pretty organised and thorough anyway though

(If you do find a perfect formula please let me know)

ps also there's loads of comping advice on the guides and reading the forums helps finding out about everyone else's experiences

To be honest, as a newbie I wouldn't enter comps the minute they are posted. There is always the chance that the post could be a duplicate and if you enter twice you could disqualify yourself. Sometimes a poster can mistakenly post the wrong answer to a comp and if you enter with that answer, obviously you won't stand a chance. I would suggest waiting a while, if there is an error, one of the longer standing members will generally make a post about it quite quickly.

    Have you read this thread?

It answers an awful lot of questions when you are getting started.

Wasn't there a thread posted here a while back where peeps posted the various comping systems they used, and the merits of why they did it that way? I've had a quick peek, but couldn't find it. Perhaps if someone can, and link it here, it might be helpful for the OP?

Personally, I make my own dailies list as I go through the mains board. I do these first, then I work on through the mains board from where I left off in order of when they are posted. I've dabbled a little with an end date system, but just didn't like it as much. Not sure why really.

Not sure if either of these are the one you mean

Can I just ask a quick question,

I do the daily's list but some like the sweet n low daily is not on the list, is it in the daily section & you just have to read all through that section?

And I thought I saw some Nissa comps the other day but they are not added to the daily list.

    Thank You xxx

Thanks for that Sophie. Actually neither is quite what I was thinking of, but perhaps I'm misremembering - very possible. I thought there was a thread posting here something like 'what comping system do you use'. It wasn't about dailies, it was more about all the varied systems we use. But then, I might've been on the planet Zog or somewhere at the time, because I can't find it either. Oh well. Thanks for trying :T XXX
