Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for back up ipad batteries. We are taking a couple of flights soon, which total around 17 hours and looking for something that will help extend the life of our iPads to use on the trip. We need 1 that can work with an ipad 2 and another to work with an ipad 3.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Do the airline not supply charging ports?0

I'm flying Delta, and as far as I'm aware they only do power points in business class and sometimes in the first 10 rows of economy. It's not the end of the world if the battery runs out, but if I find something reasonable enough then I'll go for it.0

Have you considered moderating the use? I mean as in use one at a time, rather than both being used together.
If you're listening to music, use an mp3 player instead (preferably a cheapo one that runs off an AAA battery, so you could carry a couple of them as well. If it's video, use 1 of the two ipads maybe? make sure you quit any running programs, and turn off things like wifi (go to airplane mode) and also make sure it's turned right off when not using it (hold down the power button, and slide to turn off, rather than just click power to standby it)
take a charger with you just in case you do have access to power points. You might find that in the airport you can locate one if you're waiting between flights.
Searching external ipad charger on ebay seems to bring up cheaper than above link, but never used them, no idea whether they work, or for how long etcetcetc0 -
Thanks, we'll probably do what you suggest. It was just trying to think of a way for both of us to use our ipads for the whole journey. We have a 9hr flight, a 3 hr stopover then another 5 1/2 hour flight. I did manage to make my ipad survive a 13 hour flight from Japan before, but then 6 hours waiting about in Amsterdam on the way home proved too much for it.0
