Have I messed up my claim for bank charges?

I sent letter No.1 and £10 for bank statements etc, received 6yrs of actual statements(Huge pile) went through these highlighting charges, then used interest calculator and added these against each charge, I then handed these statements and letter 2 into Bank Manager (I some-how completely missed the online calculations form) I had usual fobbing off letter and then sent letter 3 about taking them to court (I altered the standard letter slightly saying I had returned statments previously and would request these again once a court date was given) do you think I have messed up big time or should my claim still stand? should I send another £10 asking for them again in the meantime? please help xx Helen

    What bank are you with?

Can you do your banking on line?

I got details for the OH and son by requesting the list from the bank but checked for me online.

Hopefully if you could do this you could make your own list from the online statement you can get to view on the bank website, but you need to register.

Dont take this the wrong way please but it makes me feel better to know that someone else is having a bit of trouble getting their head around how it all works. Welcome to the club of confused charge reclaimers
I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.

hi, I know what you mean about being confused!!!!! I'm with yorkshire bank, and don't use online banking, would they go back 6 years anyway? I actually handed over my stack of statements to the branch manager (am I daft or what) just not sure if I need to re send my original request which would then take another 40 days, and the bank are due to reply to my court threat letter by next week, how long does it take to get a court date. I just wish had read everything properly to start with,

    thanks anyway

You will need the statements as proof in court I think, if it ever gets that far. I am not sure if you would need them before (like for the Allocation Questionnaire), but I am sure other people might be able to help you here.
Have a read through the Yorkshire Bank thread about other people's experiences:

It could always be that the bank settles before a court date, then you won't need the statements again. You certainly won't need them just for filing a claim. As long as you still have the list of charges with dates etc.!
And next time please copy your statements before you hand them over. :)
