I bought an Escort before Xmas with a 5000 rds-eon cd changer compatible radio. However it did not have the cd changer with it and I was wondering where to get one. I have looked on E-Bay and they all seem to come with the radio which I dont need. Thanks

Try calling in to a Ford dealer to see if there is any stock in their network. May even get a deal if it's an "obsolete" model. I had exactly the same problem when I bought a second hand Lexus and got one from a dealer.
    Can I help?

Keep searching Ebay or maybe check at a breakers.

Ford Galaxy MkII had the CD changer in the rear drivers side cubby hole at the back of the car.

If you buy a 2nd hand one dont pay much for it. It will be old and possibly have a short life.

Cheaper option if your insurance allow it. But a new radio.

You can also use an aftermarket option but it is quite expensive and not really worth it. http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-alpine-chm-s630-fova1_p-19786.htm

Unless there is some reason why you want to keep the car original I would move into the 21st century and convert the radio to an mp3 compatible unit and copy your music to a stick / card or even a mobile phone compatible unit.

Just checked and there are loads of original Ford changers without head unit on ebay.

Before you spend any money is the wiring harness in place in your car? Even though the head unit says compatable to doesnt mean the wirings there.

Where would i look for that?? I might pop to Halfords later and ask as the young mechanics there are really helpful

You can get an adapter lead to run a Sony one. Did this in my old van using second hand bits off ebay and the whole operation cost me about £30.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
