Drive Assist Repairers send me an invoice

  • I work for a Claims Management company and that doesn’t sound right to me. Even if you have signed a credit agreement it is unlikely that you will need to pay for the repairs. My advice is to speak to the company who you took the insurance out with first and ask them for help. Whatever you do, don’t just pay it

    Hi folks.
I recently had my car repaired by a local bodyshop after a non fault claim, via my RAC insurance (my car was hit whilst parked) . The car was returned to me early in November. I have now received an invoice from them along with a letter claiming that as Drive assist have not paid them, I am now liable for the cost of the repairs. Any thoughts on the legal position here?
    Thanks....Phredd.

From what I've read Drive Assist are in administration, hence the non-payment.

I don't think you have a contract with the repairer though.
  • FYI, from the Drive Assist site:

Will I be paid for any repairs carried out prior to 10 December 2012?
Any invoices for services provided prior to 10 December 2012 shall rank as an unsecured claim against the Company. Please call the creditors helpline (0161 838 4583) for details of how to lodge a claim against the Companies.
