To join shopandscan you need an invitation number from them. Just go to www.volunteer4panels.com and register. They will then, at some time in the future, send you an invitation number to join.

I've been doing ShopandScan for a few years now and have also been invited to join their PetrolPanel and Out of Home Shopping Panels. All which give you points which you can use for various vouchers.

I'm fairly sure that for Pinecone you need a referral.

I have just done that as you posted this! Whats Pinecone?

Do you do okay from them, I hope to get an invite soon

  • Hi Version, this has made me start a mail trail of links in case people ask in the future. I seem to recall PC is referral, although they do banner ads on some sites, when they are looking for new people.

£3 for surveys paid into P@yP@l or LVs - very quick to pay and works extremely well.

    Good luck, Tilly

Pinecone are a survey site that pay £3 a survey. Which is why people like them, they pay better than most.
The normal way of joining is to surf the net till you see the banner, then click through. If you're the demographic they're looking for, you'll then get accepted. It's a bit hit and miss.
Very occasionally they do sent out a referral link to existing panellists.
Somewhere on here is a thread about getting onto pinecone, might be worth having a search for that to see if there's anything happening at the moment.
Does depend on the demographic though - I'm only getting a survey every couple of months from them whereas a 70 year old relative is getting lots more.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

  • hi Version, I used topcashback for lovefilm and got the cashback no problem. I did keep it for about 5 months after before getting fed up, but still cheaper than renting dvd from the rental shop. The other thing i use topcashback for is buying holiday money from the post office. That pays £3.30 for each transaction, so i order the minimum and might order two or three times for the same holiday. It adds up, although not taking the holidays would be more moneysaving!

oh, and order any train tickets through the trainline as get cashback on that too...
    mortgage 1 33,000. paid nov 2012 :D. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

I like the idea of cashback on train tickets. Do post office not charge you to deliver currency?

Can you get cashback on anything?

  • no the post office either deliver free or you can arrange it to be delivered to a local post office and collect the cash there

  • Howdi

I was expecting either 50% reduction of hours or redundancy when we were due to get married, so I slashed and slashed our budget again from £6.5k to £4k with 4 months.

Our wedding was never going to be extravagant gestures or fireworks, but little things that to meant us. Our gift to every guest was a Chinese gift box, which were bought in China flatpack (and don’t ask how long it took to make them), filled with a fortune cookie and an After Eight= worked out to be 22p each.

    As chose:
    • a new roof rather than a patchup job after the winter storms, rather than fab honeymoon
    • found an overgrown rosemary, offered to do some gardening. Used the rosemary cuttings decorations in the candle vase decorations, napkin inserts and woodland decorations
    • rather than pay £200 for ivy hanging for x3 wooden beams (£600), we ‘recycled’ ivy from an overgrown patch which meant:
      • cutting and dragging ivy 200 yards to the house
      • carrying up into the house, where OH washed it in the bathtub and threw it OUT of the 1st floor window
      • tie up the ivy into same lengths and keep moist for 1 week
      • undo and bind the ivy into suitable lengths / foliage suitable for the wooden beams (great opportunity for my mum to meet my inlaws in a relaxed situ)
      • = Overall, I would have said, it took all of us 20-25hrs in prep + 1.5hrs on the day (x2 people) to save £600...
This is the sort of money saving things we had to come up with in the last 4 months of planning a wedding!!!!!!!

Normallyyou do suspect you will over spend, that’s why you have a 10% contingency plan, but to have to cut it so much before... Lets just say it was Challenging...

By doing TCB (and Mystery Shopping), we got a 4-star vase with church candles, and the napkins for our dinner guests. The vase then became TY gifts, so it became a permanent ty / reminder to the folks that helped us out.
We might have done it without the earnings, but it would have meant only x1 outing onour HM, and put the rest on the CC for a 2nd month, which I am ALLERGIC too.

I am no-where near the efficiency / successful rate of some of our MSE'ers, but it has allowed a little bit of financial relief once a year.

BTW I am not much of an online purchaser (e.g. H & C insurance and travel), only subscribed to 2 online surveys and do on av. 1/mth mystery shopper = £150 / yr.

If anyonewould like more info, give me a tell.

UsingTCB, especially as it is free, is DEFINITELY worth it.

  • Going to sort out the free credit file, does anyone know how long we need to do lovefilm for before we can cancel?
