Are Blue Airmail Stickers still needed when using Paypal postage?

Hi Guys,
i normally use Paypal postage to send items internationally.
But was wondering, as Intl. Paypal postage has a big 'A' on the label with the wording 'postage paid GB Par Avion'- is it still necessary to also attach a Blue Airmail sticker as well?

I am not sure. The guidance I have in my RM booklet (made up for myself) is that a blue airmail sticker is required to ensure correct service is used. However, that might be out of date.
If you are taking your items to the post office anyway to get proof of postage you could always just add one to be on the safe side then. I keep a stock at home for my PayPal airmail parcels alongside a roll of customs stickersI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Whenever I take mine to the post office with the pre paid PayPal labels they always put a sticker on so I think you may need one.0

I've never had one on any airmail package, paypal or in the post office. They don't seem to be used anymore...0

My PO said you should always use them. To be honest the PO will give you a sheet of stickers free so you may as well use them.0

Ditto Hermia's comment above. I have sent items without airmail labels by chance, and was reassured that it shouldn't make any difference. However, the PO official advice was that ALL airmail should carry an airmail label.
