It's simply done on number of posts. i.e. when you have so many, you move up to the next one.
I don't recall all the thresholds, but I think 2 stars is at a few hundred posts.
It's all a bit of fun, and not very meaningful apart from to say you've posted a lot if you move up.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

The more you participate in the site the more your rating goes up.
Why are they here and what do they achieve? I guess supposedly the higher your grading means the more helpful you may be (lol), some post on here all the time, some are helpful, some write any old rubbish, some look to pick fights. Some post offers and links to be helpful for others, some just copy something from Hot Deals or the MSE pages (like we can't all see them for ourselves) just to get lots of Thanks ticked.
Don't even think about the gradings, how you get them, who has what just use the site to gain the information you need and maybe help out others.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
The more stars that you have against your name, that sadder a person you are0

I guess if the Lil Lady really wanted to find out, then something like this
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/memberlist.php?order=DESC&sort=posts&pp=50
could be used (with some clicking on usernames) to see where the boundaries are.
Does Fifer need just another 1406 posts to become a Magnate? :think:0 -

Round about that, yes.
It was for me anyway.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Can I just say a big thanks to all of you and especially for the link,
perhaps the need to know useless information won't get me far in life but at least I'll know
