I know the appliances online fb comps often talk about "join us live for the winners announcement". Does anyone know whether if you're not watching the "live" bit they would inform you of your win? I did find one recent thread on IWIWIW (informed by phone :T) but would be surprised if that's the only MSE winner given how many comps of theirs are posted.

I had a look on the "how you're informed of wins" thread but they're not mentioned.

Can anyone enlighten me?

From what I understand, they do a live call during the specified time and you have to answer at that time to win

It doesn't matter if your not watching. They ring the winner live and tell them they've won regardless of whether they're watching or not.

I thing that's only the 'big' comp that applies to, the many smaller ones they run aren't mentioned during the live feed as far as I recall.

Ah, that makes sense. But presumably that means if the winner isn't available at the draw time then they would redraw?

Supposedly they email too so you don't have to answer the phone

Sometimes they offer runner up prizes, and hold up a phone number which you have to text or call to win - LIVE

My win was pre-recorded and not part of the live show.
They are absolutely brilliant though, and all the competitions they run are of such high quality.

If you listen to the very start of the first call he did, they did not answer the phone & he said don't worry we give you a few chances so they do call you back, I don't know how many times they call you back though, & I don't know if that's live or not

Hi all!

I work for Appliances Online in the Social Media team, so thought Id clarify this all for you

Our competitions run every two weeks, with winners being announced on the second Friday on our live stream at 4pm

It is indeed LIVE! Which is why you may often see us calling and calling and just waiting for someone to answer their phone. Making it live creates half the fun!

Winners who have correctly entered are chosen at random and called during the live stream - they don't have to be watching, they just have to answer their phone. If no one answers, we'll try a few times before randomly picking another.

In addition to this we often have other prizes to giveaway for review. In order to be in with the chance of winning one of these, you do need to be watching to answer a silly question submitted to our email address. These are, again, picked at random during the live stream.
