motorcycle finance messed up

hi all,
im hoping someone may offer advice and that i am posting this im the correct section
on Tuesday my girlfriend was approved for finance on a motorcycle (£3600) for myself (in her name due to me not having great history)
all was well including today where we paid the deposit of 500 pounds and collected the motorcycle and all relevant bits of paperwork, my name is on v5 new keeper supplement not my girlfriends
however after being home around an hour or so i received an email from the garage saying that the finance company were refusing to pay for the bike as my girlfriend doesn't have a motorcycle licence (i did make the garage aware of this and they also had copies of her licence)
they politely asked could i send them my details in order for them to apply for it in my name(which i have done)
so i am now left wondering where i stand, who owns the bike, myself or the garage and what happens next?
I am sure that someone at the garage will be in serious trouble for letting a vehicle go when it has effectively not been paid for

Since when have you needed a licence to buy a bike, suspect its something else, she can't get the credit and their pressing you to get the finance.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0

apparently with this finance company you need a relevant licence for the vehicle0

By putting the agreement in your partner's name and not your own you have fronted a deal and therefore committed fraud. The finance company have discovered this and refused to pay for the bike avoiding complications further down the line.0

Am I missing something? Why can't the OP's girlfriend buy him a bike? Where's the fraud?0

The finance company wouldn't give him the money so he got his girlfriend to take the finance in her name. They have effectively misrepresented themselves to get the finance company to lend money to someone they didn't want to. Getting caught doing this can get your name on the fraud register. If the deal had gone through it could have lead to the repossession of the bike and termination of the agreement.0 -
finance was never applied for in my name, it is in no way fraud, its no different to buying a gift of any kind on finance
the garage were fully aware that it was not my girlfriends bike and they said it would be perfectly fine
might i also add it was not a case of "if i can't have it, we'll just put it in your name"0 -
Well, if the credit is applied for and refused in your name you'll have to give the bike back. Best for your girlfriend really.0
