keyboard problem....help please

Today my keyboard started playing up ie the up arrow key above the ctrl key - on the left hand side - has stopped working - it won't allow me to use the underscore function or brackets/percentage etc.

What can I do to make this work now please - sorry, can't put question marks either ;0

Can you still press the key down ? If you can't then you may well have to clean out the dirt that may have gathered under the key by using compressed air.

Do you have an up arrow on the right hand side of the keyboard?

In Windows XP (All Programs...Accessories...Acessibilty..Onscreen Keyboard) you can use the onscreen keyboard but it soon becomes a pain in the backside to use.

Yes, the key will still press down and the up arrow on the right hand side presses down but doesn't allow me these functions either - should it//

I've just stripped the keyboard down and given it a damn good clean & it now works perfectly again!

Don't eat your dinner over the keyboard and clean all the gunk out regularly by turning it upside down and smacking it off the desk.

You will be amazed what falls out!!
