HELP! door handle stuck

right, door now open,lots of hammering and chiselling involved!

now-handles unscrewes from both sides-how do I get the twist-lock undone??

Take the latch unit out of the door and replace as a whole. You mentioned nothing about a twist lock ????

yes,getting the door open was my main worry.....
I'm calling it a twist lock as you turn a little handle for the bolt to move.
I can't take it apart to get the now unscrewed handle off the door in order to put a new one on?
I really appreciate your help,I know i probably sound stupid

well,i've found out it's called a thumb turn dead lock

I've done it! needed an allen key.
