Now I have ads on Internet Explorer Search page!

Over the last few days each time I log on and the Internet Explorer search page comes up, there are annoying ads just underneath the search box. They change to a new one every few seconds. I have ticked the box on settings to not allow any pop ups so does anyone know how I can get rid of these please? It's very annoying and distracting.

What do you mean by Internet Explorer search page? A search engine?

Sorry, not explaining it very well am I? when I log on, I click the small IE button at the bottom of the screen, by the windows button in the bottom left hand corner, and when I click on the ie button it brings up a page with a search box in the middle.

If I click at the top to open another tab, then it brings up google, which is my preferred page to start with, so I dont know what has happened to change that.

Go into tools, internet options, and change your home page back to Google.

Then do a system scan to check for nasties. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Hello there, I've installed Malware and am just doing a scan! and I've changed the homepage over to the one I want, thanks for the instructions, it was a big help!:beer:

Woohoo, it's all worked! Did the malware thing and it showed up two threats so I got rid of those and now its working just like before. Do I need to do the hijack this thing or will it be sorted now?
