Hi All,
I have a 14 month old Acer Aspire laptop which has been fine up until recently.
It has now developed the annoying habit of the whirly circle thing next to the cursor for no apparent reason. I've checked in taskmanager but not really sure what I should be looking for.
Function doesn't seem to be affected but it's irritating even so...
Any advice welcome.

Usually indicates some background process going on. Maybe it's updating something. Does it slow down when it happens?0

Thanks for the reply misiek,
the whole laptop does seem to have slowed down. It doesn't start as fast, doesn't open files as fast, etc.
I thought it might be doing something in the background but I'm not very techie minded:o so not sure about the processes showing in taskmanager.:beer:0 -
no problem, since you had your laptop do you install/uninstall many apps, games etc? Do you have a decent antivirus/anti malware software?
Does the system take long time to load?
I would start with downloading Ccleaner (it's a free and very simple and straightforward to use app) and tidying up the system's registry and seeing if that helps0 -
scan with malwarebytes and post a hijackthis log

and also looking in the 'tools' section for the 'start up' option and see what 'rubbish' is starting up in there (I have one thing only - my AV)0
