How do I scan an invoice?

Options
Hope there is someone to help me please.
I am struggling to learn how to scan an invoice so that I can put it into an email.
I have put it into my printer. My printer is called HP and it prints scans and copies. THANKS! in advance.

  • OK, what is the model of the primer? I have an HP photosmart plus, and live and die by it. It's a wonderful machine.

Assuming you have a touch screen on the printer, there should be a "scan to email"option there somewhere.

The first thing you have to to is ensure your scanner software is enabled. you do this using the scanner software on your PC

I have an HP3070 scanner/printer. When switched on, the scan option shows on the display screen.
  • OK, tap the scan option, then tap "scan to email" amongst the options listed there....

Thanks for your reply, My printer is HP deskjet F2480 it is software enabled I have looked at the printer and cannot see an option for scan to email.
The printer doesn't have a touch screen just some tabs at the left side
I was delayed and had to rush off. but am sitting at the desktop now for a while. hope you can advise me thanks!
  • You can't scan it directly into an email.

    Two steps:

    1. Scan it to the default folder.

    2. Create a new email and then add the scanned file as an attachment from the folder in Step 1.

.... because the printer can't know whether you're using a web-based mail app, or any other type. Because without knowing this, it can't form a link between itself and 'your' e-mail app.

Scan the invoice as a B&W picture, and save that picture to a location on your PC. (My Pictures would appear to be logical).

In your e-mail app, create your message, and with your e-mail program's 'attach' dialogue, attach the picture to the e-mail.

Does it give an option to scan and save the results as a file such as a jpeg or pdf? If so, you could do that, and attach the file to an email.

(oops just realised that three different people have posted to tell you essentially the same thing at the same time!)

Did you install all the software on the CD that came with the printer?

If you did then that should include the relevant software for scanning.
  • Yep! Just looked at the manual, and indeed, you cannot scan to email. You will need to scan to your HD and sent as an email attachment from there.
