I've just received my new joint claim award notice and was hoping to run it by the experts here. It's based on two adults, one child and an income of zero for last year since I was on I.S and my partner was studying privately.
He is putting his studies to use as a self employed I.T consultant this year and estimates earnings of £6000 p.a initially. We are to get about £79 WTC and £46 CTC. Does that sound about right? It's a little more than the entitledto website suggests, but I realise that only gives an estimate.
I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who posts on this board for the advice I have picked up, particularly in reference to ensuring that my single claim was closed to prevent hold ups and system flags. I have also come to understand thanks to the forum, the utter importance of keeping a record of all exchanges between the dept and myself in case of any problems.
My second child is due in the next few weeks, so I am sure you can see why I am so grateful that this appears to have been organised with minimal stress and within a short time frame. All the very best to everyone. Cheers!

Thanks, you may be alright, as you have little coming in, however, keep all your records, note down calls and names and record delivery everything you send in.

Of course. I would have anyway, but I'm also a victim of their nonsensical 2003 overpayments for which they are still chasing an outstanding £500. Lots of good advice to be found here about that too, so thanks again.0

Apparently we'll be entitled to some. About a third off if entitledto is correct. Partners earnings will average about £115 per week and there will be child benefit too. Phone your Housing Office, Faye and they'll do a calculation for you.0
