packaging items

I'm thinking of selling cameras, mobiles, cassette players, glass keyrings and other small items etc.. what packaging is suitable for these and where cheap to buy?

That's a bit like asking how long is a bit of string.

How you pack something depends on what it is and how delicate. To travel safely though the mail though you need to assume it will be dropped onto a hard concrete floor at some point, so make sure your packaging allows for that.

Personally I box anything like to be too delicate and for other items I use jiffy bags or plastic mailers as appropriate. Over time I can usually work out what packaging i need for most things. I buy virtually all my packaging on ebay and keep large stocks of various sized boxes, jiffy bags, plastic mailers etc. I know the weight of each form of packaging, have scales and a gauge for measuring large letters on my desk.

If you are setting up a business then give various packaging a try and see what suits you best but also protects the items but keeps weight down. remember all the other stuff about registering with HMRC as well, and making sure your ebay account is also properly registered.
