    Well actually its Barclaycard that was the aquiring bank for Comet, and they are challenging EVER single chargerback because their aquiring is done offshore and they dont have a clue what they are doing.

    Santander should at least attempt a chargeback on your behalf but at end of the day if it comes down to it and they genuinely contest it then I dont see if going in your favour.


    Oh yeh, putting it on your correspondance etc that you will escalate it to FOS etc dont have any bearing on your case being worked mate. Im amazed at what people on this forum believe.


    When you have a case like this for a fairly small amount it might be there is no chargeback available. Likelyhood is the banks complaints department may decide to refund the customer as the charges for it escalating to FOS are stupid. Depends on how they obviously deal with it. Based on how stupid Barclaycard are I think you will get away with your chargeback, they will likely represent(contest) it but the bank can challenge a 2nd time and that should be the last of it.
