Son Applying for JSA

My son has just graduated from university and has an appointment to attend the job centre on Tuesday. They told him to bring one of my payslips with him to his initial interview.
I find this a bit strange as I wouldn't have thought that my income would affect any benefit he is entitled to. I don't have a problem giving him a payslip to take with him but just wondered why they need this.
He has been at college/university since 2007 without a break.
Thanks for any help.

He will not be entitled to contributions based JSA (as he has made none) so I guess they are going for means tested?0

You don't have to provide your payslip if you don't want to. I would never tell my kids how much I earnt.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
