It means it has an accuracy within 1% of the true reading. Autoexpress did a test on digital gauges, have a look here, you may have to register first. Halfords came top at £9.99.

Trying to order a tyre pressure guage online(not sold over here), rather than the pencil type i thought i'd try a digital one, but the spec from snap on showed an accuracy of 1%, was this a typo?, where else to buy online ?

1% appears to be the most accurate you can get (after a quick look through). Some say "accurate to within +/- 1psi" which for 30psi is more than 3% inaccurate![FONT="]si talia jungere possis sit tibi scire satis [/FONT]0 -

Also don't forget that the pressure will vary with temperature - typically a 2-4 psi difference between cold & warm tyres is normal0 -
