Aygo Oil Leak
Hi, my new car warranty expires in 6 days. Last week I had the MOT carried out (to take affect from 18th January) and there is an 'advisory' that there is an engine front baffle plate oil leak. I was advised verbally that this is so slight as to be of no concern.
However, I now wonder if this should have been dealt with under the warranty? Are oil leaks covered?
The sales brochure I got when I bought the car states "..covers any defect caused by a manufacturing or assembly fault. It is valid for 3 years of normal use or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first..."
I have done only just over 9000 miles.
Would this be a "manufacturing or assembly fault"?
I would appreciate some urgent advice please.
TIA

I'd say it will be covered. Get on the phone to them ASAP0 -
Give them a call or go in in person. They can only say no.0

Warranty repair. Book it in as soon as possible."In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act. "

Good job I asked! Just spoken to them and they confirmed it's definitely a warranty repair.
Thank you:beer:0 -
Its a warranty repair that will be carried out with no fuss or bother, and don't be too concerned about the warranty ending date.
This is Toyota, not to be confused with most others who treat their customers with contempt.0 -

You can't really say that, dealerships are simply franchises, they're not run by Toyota.... In fact some are run by the infamous AC and EH, who are generally terrible whatever cars they sell.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Yes, but it's not Toyota I'm dealing with it's the dealer, and having had a bit of an unfortunate confrontation with them last week over what they claimed was a 'misunderstanding' I was initially reluctant to contact them again (having mentally 'washed my hands' of them). The person I spoke to yesterday was though very willing to assist and said that as I'd reported the problem before the end date then there would be no problem. She also checked with one of the technicians.
What has annoyed me is that because of the amount of contact and number of people I spoke to last week over the matter of the first MOT and 3rd service, the service department was well aware that my 3-year warranty was expiring and should have pointed out that the oil leak is a warranty item, and not told me that it is so slight, something not to be concerned about, and not to worry until I found oil on my driveway!0 -

The people servicing the car won't know anything of the sort, they'll be young apprentices, barely qualified and the only thing they'll know is what they're told.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I appreciate what you're saying but I had personal, sitting in the office, speaking to the manager and the superviser, both of whom again spoke to me after the service/MOT hoping everything was now sorted, and it was the superviser of the service department (not a person with oily hands) who told me not to worry until there was oil on my driveway.0
