Hi,
I think the laser has gone on my panasonic home cinema system it is about 4-5 years old.
When you put a disc in it sounds like its winding down and nothing is displayed.
Does anyone know how much it costs to fix the lasers please as I really like the system I have got.:(
Thanks Jen

try a lense cleaner first, loads of places sell them0

ok will do thanks. Will this work even if its not reading a disc at all?0

It's suprising how much dust can settle on the pickup lens, so yes! Personally I don't like disc cleaners but they are much better than throwing the player away!0

see if you can borrow one rather than buy0

A compressed air cleaner might shift the dust if you have one of those. They are small aerosols with a tube that you use to direct the spray of gas.
Otherwise try one of the many lens cleaner disks available mentioned above. They are CD blanks with small brushes and are unlikely to harm your lens and only cost a few pounds. If your CD drive can spin a disk, then it can spin a CD cleaner disk.
You don’t have much to lose as it is not working anyway and, unless it is a very high end machine, it is unlikely to be worth repairing.
There is of course no guarantee that dust on the lens is the problem but it is worth a try.0
