TPLink ethernet messing up wireless?

Options
I recently bought a pair of TP-Link ethernet adapters so that I could connect one to smart tv upstairs and the other to the wireless router to improve signal. Tv now works really well but since the pair have been connected, the wireless connection we use for laptops keeps disconnecting and I find I have to switch modem and router on and off to reset it?

Is there anyway of stopping this assuming it is not just a big coincidence?

Thanks :)

If they are powerline adapters then they basically use your home wiring to transmit a signal. Your wiring is then effectively an antenna which radiates on various radio frequencies and can interfere with all sorts of wireless devices. This may be part of the problem. They can cause radio interference for several hundred metres in all directions:(

Powerline adaptors work at far lower frequencies than WiFi. They may annoy a short wave listener nearby but if they are really interfering with WiFi there is something seriously wrong with them. My vote goes to coincidence and the solution would be to try a different wifi channel. Picking which is a subject often covered here - search for InSSIDer to find details.
