I think the nicest beach for children is Port Erin, you can get the bus there from Douglas easily, it's a lovely sheltered bay with nice sand. That's where I would take 4 and 6 year olds if the weather was nice. Peel beach is nice also but I prefer Port ErinJoovce, Joovce you want me to spell, it's a J, V, C.0

Plus if you are not driving you can try the clear whisk(e?)y and the very fine ales on the island.0

We stayed in the Arrandale Apartments a couple of years ago (in Douglas) and it was great.
