Wooden shutters

Ok so I'm looking at getting wooden shutters for the rooms at our front of our house to give us some privacy without having it have net curtains, blinds etc.
We have a 1930's terrace with semi bay windows and a small normal window. I had a guy round tonight who has quoted us £3447 but with a January price of £2172. There was no hard sell or anything or pushed that the discount is only valid for January.
Just wondering anyone has had experience of shutters?
I was also looking to get Hilary's blind to quote us too but have a feeling they'll be very expensive

You have to laugh, they don't half try hard:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It also made me laugh that I was certain from the post that you wanted external shutters to the windows.
I thing you wanted slatted or wooden slat venetian blinds???:rotfl:
If you do want shutters get plastic, shutters are a beggar to paint:D:D:D:DI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Very much the "in" thing and command horrendous price levels as a result. I quite like 'em but I'm doing zippo until they go out of fashion daaahhling and the price bombs. Only then will they be considered TBH.

If quoting one price and then offering large discount for buying now is not part of a hard sell tactic, then what is?0

I just think dust when I see those. I got rid of my Venetian blinds as they were a pain to dust!

I can come round and brick up your windows for say 1/2 that price??
;):money::money: Extremely private.

Placed an order on the promise that a surveyor would contact me within a week... 3 weeks later; nothing.
They have had over a £1000 deposit and not so much as an apology.
When I pointed out that the January sale has now started so could they amend my price accordingly, they said no and offered me a refund!!!
Shutter and blind companies are two a penny now so I shall take my custom elsewhere and never do business with Hilary's again!!!0 -
Dont touch this company with a barge pole!!!
Once they have your 50% deposit they couldn't care less. Waited over 3 weeks and wasn't contacted by surveyor who needed to measure up. No wonder they quote over 12 weeks delivery!!!!
Disgusting customer service skills, surprised this company is still running!!0 -
Absolutely appalling service from Hilary's blinds. I ordered wooden shutters in February 2014. We were given an installation date of May. I waited in and no one turned up to fit the shutters. I phoned Hilary's and they said the fitter wouldn't be turning up and they could give me no indication whatsoever about when a fitter would come. They said they would email me and they haven't. They said they would phone me back and they didn't. I contacted customer services yesterday and the phone call I was promised from the fitter hasn't happened. Nearly five weeks after the installation date and four months after they have taken my 50% deposit still no idea when the shutters are being installed. Be warned!0
