Yes thanks. I did originally wonder about those but was worried about wireless not working too well ( wireless doorbells seem to fail dismally here) and didn't want to spend money if I could help it.

Now I'm not understanding the terminology. What does map a drive to the location mean please?

It means that you can use your desktop PC to assign a drive letter to a directory on your laptop. That way, your PC will see, say "drive F:" as being the laptop drive, so you can access the files over the network and use a media player on the PC you're sitting in front of, rather than doing it remotely via VNC.

You don't need to actually map a drive letter, though, you just need to share the folder you want to access. So... on your laptop PC, browse to a suitable folder, right-click it and click "Properties" and you should see a "Sharing" tab which will allow you to share the folder (so it can be accessed by other devices on your network).

I can't recall all the relevant details off the top of my head, but there's plenty of relevant stuff here: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=file+sharing+network+windows

You are already using wireless, and there is no correlation between a camera and a doorbell as the frequency used for wireless doorbells is 443 MHz which is nowhere near the microwave band that wireless cameras operate at.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
