We’d like to remind Forumites to please avoid political debate on the Forum.
This is to keep it a safe and useful space for MoneySaving discussions. Threads that are – or become – political in nature may be removed in line with the Forum’s rules. Thank you for your understanding.
PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

My neighbourhoods is a new online community website that allows you to get to know your neighbours, buy and sell online for free, and find out more about your local area. Think a combination of Up My Street, Fish 4 and Friends Reunited.

Always a bit suspicious of sites requiring registration before you can access the data.
Think I'll stick to well known reputable sites like Up My Street, Fish 4 and Friends Reunited0 -
Good point, but there's no need to be registered to access our data. Without registering you can:
Search for people in any city or area
Browse the Market Place, a free classifieds
Find out more about any area in the UK
We only ask that you register when it comes to contacting other members, which is essential for security.0 -
You didn't identify yourself as the webmaster of this site.
Can you please do so in future, if you wish to promote personal business0 -
My apologies, I am the founder of the My Neighbourhoods site. Any feedback from forum readers is much appreciated.0

I'm registered on there - and I'm trying to change my account to another area but it appears that I have to re-register. Is there any chance of changing it so I don't have to have more than one account?0
-
You can use the change of address form to send us your new address, which we'll do right away for you:
http://www.myneighbourhoods.co.uk/contact.asp?Subject=Change+of+address
We currently limit this in order to make the site a little more secure but if our users find this is something that they'd like to change regularly then we may alter the way it works.0 -
Thanks Danny. It's definitely something I'd like to be able to do regularly - mainly because I move once a year on average. It's always nice to be able to research the area from every angle before you decide to move there0
-
I'll add this to our development updates. In the meantime, you might find it useful to search for members in any area or find out more information on any area (including schools, health centers, pubs, restaurants, trains, events, jobs, parking and much more).
Let me know if there's anything else you look for when moving to a new area. The things that would help you make an informed decision.0
