I presume you are in my account then add funds?

there it gives you the two options you talk about, each one has a continue button underneath

the first option is 'You move money from your bank account'. under this there is a continue button, click on this then you get

Name of Payee PayPal
Payee Sort Code __-__-__
Payee Account Number ________
Customer Reference/ID ___________ Enter this as a payment reference
(I have removed the actual details)

I've done it this way myself, worked instantly.
