I doubt if that is the case, here is a wealth distribution for households which shows how it is concentrated in pensions and property, as well as the top 10%

Fascinating question. Everytime I hear people saying we should tax the wealthy more, I feel like shouting No! Don't tax them! Get them to run seminars to tell the rest of us how to do it!!

Our Earth's biosphere isn't large enough to support 7 billion people at the standard of the richest people, or even as rich as an average Briton. It doesn't help if we can't even be bothered to use what we need rather than wasting it.

What does a household consist of when referring to household income/assets? One person, a couple, a couple plus four kids?

average family would be like 1.6 kids or something though uk population growth is higher recently.

Real household actual income per head stood at £4,535 in the third quarter of 2012, which was
an increase of £21 (0.5 per cent) compared to the second quarter of 2012. The increase in real
household disposable income per head (differing from ‘actual’ income because it does not include
in kind services provided by the state) was slightly smaller in cash terms - £8 (0.2 per cent) from
£3,761 in Q2 2012 to £3,769 in Q3 2012. Therefore, the services in kind provided by the state, such
as education and healthcare, contributed £13 of the increase in income per person between the
second and third quarter of 2012.

In the third quarter of 2012, real household actual expenditure per head increased by £9 (0.2 per
cent) from £4,447 in Q2 2012 to £4,456. Real household expenditure per head increased by £4 (0.1
per cent) from £3,588 in quarter 2 2012 to £3,592 in quarter 3 2012.

At best its only a guess because so much wealth is a closely guarded secret.
But consider one (i.e The Royal Family - Some of their cars cost over £10 million apiece.) has the wealth of thousands of those who has earned a few million.

You certainly don't get seriously rich just by hard work.
