Lol. Simply because of your experience of handholding and chasing them, on principle, I'd hold on to the money until asked for it. And even then, to discuss a discount based on the time you've expanded project managing it.

It really is too much handholding and nose wiping for them to call and pay, because you'd be basically handholding them through this stage of the process too! :rotfl:

    I think this too.

I think it is up to the fitter to send the paperwork to head office to deal with. He presumably hasn;t done that, and head office don;t seem to have any procedures in place to keep tabs on fitters and ensure they do what they are supposed to.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went bust soon.

I'd not chase it up with them, but unless I was unhappy with the product I'd pay it in full when requested. Bit of a cheek to start asking for a reduction after the price has been agreed (unless those phone calls were expensive)!

I'm surprised you have to ask, surely the honest thing to do is pay your bill for goods received?
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

I haven't had the bill. They haven;t sent it to me. That's the point.

But often when ordering blinds getting them fitted is part of the price & in this case they took a long time to do that plus costing skint chick phone calls & time.

I would do nothing. See if they send you an invoice. Then take just as long to reply as the delays they caused you. Then if they even bother to chase ask for a discount.
  • As others have said, keep copies of your correspondence to confirm you complained at the time and put the money aside to ensure its there. When/ if they bill you then pay but contest the amount based on the poor service etc.

Remember that they have up to 6 years to pursue you for the monies and some companies only do audits when their accounts are drawn up (could be 18 months time)
  • I'd wait for them to send you an invoice then discuss a discount on the bill for having to chase them up. I would probably offer cost price for the blinds and then a discounted labor cost.

  • As honesty is so important to you, I would phone and ask what you owe then pay it. Anyone who read the 'not doing Santa' thread will understand. You can't pick and choose when it comes to honesty.

Leave the money sitting in your account, earning you interest, until they get themselves organised and send you the invoice!
    This.

They'll get round to invoicing you eventually (I'd expect one within a month or so, when they've reviewed their accounts and figured out that they're down).

I'd wait for them to ask for payment. Enough chasing has been done already. Sit and wait for them to 'chase' you.
