Telling him has to be step 1. He'll either work with you to get it sorted which, as your partner he should or he'll p1ss off as you suspect he will. Either way you'll be a good deal better off financially (and emotionally) or in the same situation financially but without the added pressure of trying to hide a £66k debt from your partner!
You have no chance of paying this off and as such you're doing yourself no favours thinking or hoping you can.
What help are you getting in respect of your relationship?
Well, what a helpful post this is - NOT! maybe there are some here today gone tomorrow strangers on this web forum, but not many. Most of us are around for the long haul. I had my 'so called light bulb moment' last year - and I am still here. And I am so grateful for the advice I was given (including tell your OH and cancel your sky membership) that I would like to pass it on to other people.
You have no idea why people can't tell their OH - we just have to accept the fact that it is sometimes too difficult. What if the OH is a wife beater!
And how will the OH p****ing off make anyone betterr off! In the long run yes, but not now when the poster obviously needs help and sensitivity.
As someone who couldn't tell her OH I sympathise totally. Lonelytoo, don't let this post put you off, please post again and let us know how you are getting on.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
