I had a scape with a post in a multi story car park yesterday, 100% my fault. I havent claimed on my insurance in 50 years and I have protected no claim bonus. Has anybody had a claim and can tell me the region that my insurance will go up next year if I claim please

You wont lose your no claims bonus, so technically it wont go up. They may 'weight your insurance against you', ie, maybe add on 10% because they now consider you a higher risk, but i doubt it.
My 18yo son put my car over a hedge and into someones garden causing £3,000 of damage to fencing, mature shrubs, etc which we put through the insurance. Previously i was paying £1200 a year with him on and this year it came through at... £1200.
Is it that bad that its worth claiming?0 -

The best way will be to do two dummy online quotes.0 -
No claims and Premiums should never be confused.
No claims bonus is a discount applied to your premium.
You make a claim, your premium will rise, that is how they work, they are not set up in business to give money away.
If this is damage to your own vehicle, given that premiums will most certainly rise over 5 years it would be cheaper to have the damage repaired privately and keep it to yourself.
The old quote trick, well they are wise to that .Be happy...;)0 -
