DAK if Asda still price match and match BOGOG offers from other supermarkets? As I remember over a year ago they advertised this heavily in store with posters at the tills etc. Don’t see that any more, but would be helpful and time saving if I can take my Morrisons leaflet and buy the same stuff from Asda.

I have used the Ad Match policy in my local Asda store within the last week so it is still on the go - just not advertised.
It is particularly useful for things like 7 packs of crisps like Hula Hoops and the like that are BOGOF in another supermarket flyer where the packs in Asda are 100% Extra Free so you actually get 28 bags of crisps for the price of 7 !!!
i.e. Morrisons - Hula Hoops 7 Pack £1.25 BOGOF = 7 + 7 = 14 bags for £1.25
Asda - Hula Hoops 7 Pack with 100% Extra Free with Ad Match BOGOF = 14 + 14 = 28 bags for £1.25Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -
my local asda have stopped doing ad match, I think they make up there own rules. So will depend on which branch.0

Well they shouldnt have done that really and you may find that you will be refused this add match at another store because the product that is price matched should be 'like for like' so your not supposed to match a pack of 7 crisps against a pack of 14 xxx0 -
- they do still do admatch but are supposed to do like for like (ie if there stuff has 50% free then so should the ad) However I think it depends on the checkout operator - there's a great one at my local store who knows exactly what she's doing - some of the others jokingly try and hide from me and it can get quite annoying for the people behind if your CO doesn't know what to do!! I've even had things for free if something has been say reduced to 99p on the add and is 1.99 but bogof in Asda (pay £1.98 get £1.99 off!!)

You get hauled into the office if you do an admatch wrong and end up giving away money to customers!! x0

And I think we should all remember in our quest to save money that although we think we are 'getting one over' on the big stores - it is sometimes the staff who get in trouble if they don't follow the store's criteria to the letter.
I've had both sides - the checkout operator who says 'oh great you're getting a real bargain here as we have it on offer too' and the one who tries to take off the Asda offer so you just get the admatch one - and I bet I know which one the store backs!!!!!If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

Updated info on Asda price matching:
I got my price match to a Somerfield leaflet today - but only because I persisted. The cashier said they no longer offer this, but was corrected by the supervisor (as I last did it only a few weeks ago).
I was told they no longer advertise it in store as it slows the queues up (bit like paying by cheques then!). But if you question it, they will still match the price on an exact like-for-like product.
After all, it makes you more likely to visit Asda - and they profit from your other spends.0 -
I used the Ad-match on Saturday at my local Asda against the Somerfiled flyer and they did not question it at all.
As long as they are willing to accespt the Ad Match then I am happy to use it - works both ways as it means I am spending money in Asda that I would otherwise spend elsewhere - they win and I dont have to travel to my Somerfield store (which is further away than Asda) - I win and everyone is happyYour really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -
Does anyone know waht the exact maximum quanties of an item to yare allowed when at matching please?
I've been told 6 items by my local store, yet other times i have been told there is a limit of 3 (though you can have multiples of this is each is a different flavour of the product).
BTW Ad Match is still going - checked with a supervisor.0 -
Morning,
When i worked on checkouts then it used to be limited to three, although as you state you can have multiples if different flavours.
