Hi everyone,
Thanks for starting us off Ally.
Stitchy - What happened if you don't mind me asking? I know you've clashed before but you've always got past it so it sounds very serious!! Hope you're ok.
Happy Birthday Niksyg! Your OH sounds very sweet, enojy the rest of your day.
La e - Mmm, your dinner sounds delicious! I agree with your thought of the day, when I don't bother going to the shops & looking online I don't really miss it, but when I do I find all these things I "want" & sometimes even "need" but do I really? Probably not. Avoidance is key
Today I have/will:-- Made use of free water & milk at work
- B/L/D from stores
- Log calories using free app
- Check postcode lottery
- Charging phone at work
- Heating off as long as possible & on low when needed, lots of layers on to keep warm.
- Check online banking
- Check for new mystery shopping opportunities
- Enter some comps
- Do some decluttering & flylady
- Checked results from Mr T's price promise & printed off my 29p voucher at work! :rotfl: That's a very small thing!
- Need to fess up on the GC thread
- Check Gumtree
- Continue reading household diary thread, looks like I'm capable of making my own sheets for my filofax
So that'll be a few pounds saved! Just need to decide what I need now - DH doing overtime tonight
- Speak to mobile phone provider about my upgrade options - must do this today
- Go to second job tonight, going to drive so I cannot spend money on alcohol & taxis, better for my waistline too!
- My Dad is working on our kitchen floor again today, really need to learn all his wonderufl DIY knowledge!
- Book DH's 30th birthday holiday!! Will use cashback.

I haven't liked this job since day one, and that was two and a half years ago! But sometimes we just have to knuckle down and get on with it, which would be okay if we were remunerated properly.
I do the accounts and payroll (after taking training & tough exams!!) for a very small company (3 partners, 2 administrators and myself). The annual bonus is worked out by the amount of business the partners write in a year. Yesterday I was told that as I don't "make any money" for the firm I would not be on the same bonus scheme as the other two girls. Well they don't "make any money" either; they type letters, fill in forms etc and have no specific qualifications.
My Christmas gift was also pro-rata which annoyed me as they already pro-rata the bonus I was getting, and I quite understand that, but a present for heavens sake! Good job it wasn't a mug, I wouldn't have got the handle!!! :rotfl:
I just can't understand why I will be the only one whose bonus is worked out on my production levels and the other two will get theirs based on the bosses' production. They forget that sometimes it takes me four hours just to get the e-mail system working again so how can I do my own work if I'm being general dogs-body too???
Well, rant over. It doesn't look much written down, but after 30 months I've really had enough.:mad::mad:Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
Oh .... that doesn't seem fair at all
it would be bad enough if all of you were getting it pro-rata'd .. but at least fair.
I know what you mean about being stuck .... I don't want to say too much on here but let's say if I wasn't in a rural area ... and there wasn't a recession - I wouldn't be in the job I'm in now either!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

That's lovely, was it homemade?
Yesterday I hung up my work briefcase in the hall and the hook fell off the wall. :rotfl:
Methinks I need to ditch some of the (heavy) cr*p in it!Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Hi everyone,
Stitchy - sorry to hear about your job - it really does sound unfair.:(
Niksyg - happy birthday:bdaycake:
I am feeling very positive despite checking my online banking! It's a bit on the low side but I am due to get paid on Tuesday and I have paid for a lot of things that I thought I would be paying out of that wage (if you know what I mean!).
So, my list for today:-
- Check bank
- Compile list for town tomorrow
- All food from stores
- Washing x 2 - one in and one to be done when I get home
- Food plan (in progress)
- Read book
I think that's it for now.
Have a great day everyone.

Hi all. Thanks ally for starting the thread. Happy birthday niksyg
No rants from me today - thats a rare event :rotfl:
Picking my boys up this evening (well, the two younger ones anyway - the eldest, as regular posters will know is already living at mine). Only problem is that I'm completely skint after Xmas so cant afford to do anything with them
Today I have/will- Used free toiletries
- Walked to the station then rail pass to work
- Brought home prepared salad to work
- Free newspaper on the train
- Free tea/coffee/water at work
- Have a NSD
- Checked online banking
- Charge phones at work
- Arranged for estate agent to come out tomorrow to give a valuation (I need it for the divorce so need it to be a realistic valuation, rather than the increased figure that they would value it at for selling purposes)
- Used work's printer to print off financial statements that I need for the solicitor
- Tea from stores (got some lamb chops out of the freezer last night to defrost, and will use up some potatoes that are starting to turn a bit sprouty)
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0
