I have a 2tb MyBookLive. It is connected to a Netgear Router. My desktop which runs XP has detected it and it can be seen on WD Smartware. All is running fine. A first laptop running Windows 7 has detected it and connected to it wirelessly and all is fine. A second laptop running Vista has connected to it wirelessly and all is fine. However, a 3rd laptop running windows 7 does not detect it and in WDSmartware only the laptop shows up. I can see the MBL listed in windows explorer and can access the dashboard when I access via the IP address. I have given the MBL a static IP address.I have tried connecting the laptop directly to the router, but it still would not detect the MBL. Please can someone help me?

If you can access it fine in Windows explorer why bother with the smart ware app?
I've got the 1tb version and have always just accessed it by mapping a drive to it.0 -
I like the idea that Smartware will automatically backup my files without intervention from me. Can this be replicated another way?0

You can use the backup options built into Windows 7 (just look in the control panel).0

Solved the problem! It was Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 blocking discovery. I uninstalled KIS2013 and reverted back to KIS2012.0
