Cant open bank account! Clear credit history!

in Budgeting & bank accounts
why cant I open an account, I got denied on barclays, they said I had to go in to confirm identity as they could not id me. I applied for one with RBS they sent me an application to sign and bring to a branch with ID, i did that and it passed the ID, yet I have received no correspondence for a week now!

my history is clear on Experian with a score of 700

    The score means nothing.
    No correspondence for a week - because they can't work fast.
    Clear history is always a problem because the computers that rule everywhere don't have any information to say YES or NO and require human intervention.

    When you say clear credit history do you not have any other credit comitments?

    So you have heard nothing for a week, that means nothing, these things can take time

    You haven't been denied at all by Barclays they just need to Id you docs physically.

    You need to take a step back
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.
