Refund on shoes- advice needed

Hi, I need some advice on where I stand. I googled a local running shop to me, looked at the shoes they were advertising and liked the look so I went along. I got my feet tested to see what type of shoes I needed ( as I said I had problems with my heel to the sales girl) and then chose a brand that they advertised on the site. I was told by sales girl I could try them on a treadmill and if they were wrong I could take them back and said that was fine and I would take another look online if it was the case. I did this and they hurt my heel ( there was no give whatsoever) so I got my girlfriend to take them back and get another pair I saw online to replace them with ( as the shop do not do refunds. This is when the trouble began, firstly they told me that the shop has nothing to do with the website even though on their shop list page they are advertised on there and I can't have the shoes ( it says no where on the site that his is the case). The girl at the store turns round and then says they doubt they even have them. I have taken a screenshot of them advertised the day I went in there and low and behold when I complain the size disappears like they are baiting people to go to there shop and then offer me the latest model at an extra £40? I have asked for my money back as I do not think this is fair what they have done? I have an online website and a shop to and if I did this I think trading standards would be on my door? Can someone tell me where I stand with this please?

No where in law does it say you have to stock the same items in your physical shop as you do online.
current debt as at 10/01/11- £1250

How long ago did you but the shoes online? You may still be able to return them under DSR for a full refund. However unless stated in T&Cs they don't have to accept them back in store and can insist on you retuning them to their online base at your own cost (they have to refund your original delivery charges though).

You're right, I mis read as OP says they looked online, then went to store, then would look online again. I realise now that this was only if the ones in store weren't suitable

Forget my last post altogether as DSR have nothing to do with this.

    this is the site :

    www runnersworld ltd uk
( the space are full stops)

and yes I bought them in the chelmsford shop, but I had looked online prior to going in. And as I said when I bought them and i was offered to return them for a replacement I said to the woman in store that I wouldn't have a chance to go back so I would look online for a different pair, She said absolutely nothing that this was not possible? If i had known it was only the ones in the shop I would not have gambled with the first pair, as the rest were horrible and alot of money compared to the ones advertised on their site.
